Privacy Policy

How Ralmed Emergency Medical Services collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

Who we are

This policy is issued by Ralmed Emergency Medical Services, 89 Impala Road, Kelvin View, Sandton, 2090 ("Ralmed", "we", "us"). We provide ambulance services, clinical care and accredited medical training. You can reach us on 086 1725 633 or at info@www.ralmed.com.

What this policy covers

It explains how we handle personal information that we collect through this website, by phone, by WhatsApp and by email, and when we provide our services. It applies to patients, clients, course delegates, job applicants and anyone else who contacts us.

The information we collect

  • Contact details you give us, such as your name, phone number and email address.
  • What you tell us through our forms, including enquiries, quote requests, event questionnaires, job shadowing applications and complaints.
  • Details needed to provide a service, such as a patient's location, medical aid details and the treatment given.
  • Records of calls and messages to our control room, where these are kept for quality and safety.
  • Basic technical information your browser sends when you visit this website.

How we use it

We use personal information to respond to emergencies, provide and bill for our services, answer enquiries, run training and issue certificates, consider job and job shadowing applications, handle complaints, and meet our legal duties. We do not sell personal information.

Health information

Health information is special personal information under the Act. We process it only to care for patients, to coordinate their treatment and transport, to claim from medical aid schemes and insurers, and where the law requires or allows it. Clinical records are kept confidential and are available only to the people who need them to provide care.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed: with hospitals and doctors involved in a patient's care, with medical schemes and insurers for billing, with accreditation bodies for training certificates, with service providers who help us run our systems, and with authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and for any longer period the law requires, for example for health and financial records. After that we delete or destroy it securely.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we require the service providers who handle it for us to do the same.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that are needed for it to work and to keep it secure. [INSERT: the analytics or advertising tools used on the website, if any, and how visitors can opt out]

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Send your request to info@www.ralmed.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and some records, such as clinical records, must be kept by law.
