Questions about working at Ralmed

How do I apply for a job at Ralmed?

Call 0861 725 633 if you have questions first, or email your CV to info@ralmed.com with the role in the subject line. For clinical roles, attach your registration certificate. If your experience fits a current or upcoming role, we contact you to arrange an interview.

Which roles does Ralmed hire for?

Ralmed hires basic, intermediate and advanced paramedics, doctors and nurses, paramedic trainers, and control room and support staff. Current openings are listed on this page when they are available. If nothing listed fits, you can still send your CV and tell us which kind of role you are looking for.

What registration do clinical roles need?

Paramedics and doctors need current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa at the level the role requires, and nurses need current registration with the South African Nursing Council. Attach your registration certificate to your application, because registration is checked before any offer is made.

What documents should I send with my CV?

Send your CV and a copy of your ID, plus a valid work permit if you are not a South African citizen. Clinical applicants should add their registration certificate, and ambulance crew applicants should include the driving documents the role requires. Putting the role in the email subject line helps us pass it to the right person.

What happens after I send my CV?

We review every CV against current and upcoming roles. If your experience fits, we contact you to arrange an interview. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed, and their registration and references are checked before an offer is made. Include a phone number where we can reach you during the day.

Can I send my CV if no vacancy is listed?

Yes. If nothing listed fits, you can still email your CV to info@ralmed.com and tell us which kind of role you are looking for, such as paramedic, nursing, training or control room work. We contact applicants when their experience fits a current or upcoming role.

Where are Ralmed's roles based?

Ralmed works from its only base at 89 Impala Road, Kelvin View, Sandton. Ambulance crews and clinical teams are dispatched from there, and paramedic trainers travel to client sites around South Africa, because accredited training is delivered nationwide. Each vacancy states where the role is based.

Can school learners spend time with the team?

Yes. Learners in their final school year can apply for Ralmed's job-shadowing programme, which gives them time alongside working professionals in nursing, medicine, paramedic work, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. It is not a paid role or a course. See the Applications page for how it works and how to apply.

Does Ralmed hire trainers?

Yes. Ralmed hires paramedic trainers, because our accredited First Aid and occupational health and safety courses are taught by working paramedics rather than career trainers. Trainers deliver courses at client workplaces, so the role can involve travel within South Africa. Send your CV and your registration details to info@ralmed.com.
