How we work

Care matched to the call

One number for everything

086 1725 633 reaches every Ralmed service, from an ambulance to a course booking. A person answers, 24 hours a day.

The right level of care

A basic crew, an intermediate or advanced paramedic, or a doctor on board, matched to what the call needs rather than one fixed response.

Trainers who still work the road

Courses are run by paramedics who still respond to calls, so the training reflects the emergencies people really meet.

Questions

Questions about Ralmed

Where is Ralmed based?

Call 086 1725 633 or visit us at 89 Impala Road, Kelvin View, Sandton, 2090, Ralmed's only premises. Ambulance and clinical services are arranged around where our clients are, and accredited training runs at client sites anywhere in South Africa. The GP practice at the same address is open 24 hours a day.

Is Ralmed a private ambulance service?

Yes, and more besides. Ralmed is a private emergency medical service licensed by the Department of Health, and it also provides healthcare funding, remote site and occupational health clinics, a 24-hour GP practice and HWSETA and QCTO-accredited training. The public ambulance service is a separate provider, reached on 10177, or 112 from any mobile phone.

How do I reach Ralmed by email?

Email info@www.ralmed.com for general enquiries, quotes and training bookings, and accounts@www.ralmed.com for invoices and statements. Add your phone number and the service you need so the right person can reply. For anything that cannot wait, call 086 1725 633, which is answered by a person 24 hours a day.

How long has Ralmed been operating?

Ralmed has been operating since 2013. Today its services include healthcare funding and case management, remote site and occupational health clinics, a 24-hour GP practice with its own laboratory, accredited medical training and ambulance cover.

What services does Ralmed provide?

Ralmed provides six main services: healthcare funding and care coordination, remote site clinics, occupational health clinics, medical training, support for hospitals and medical practices, and ambulance and emergency services. The same number, 086 1725 633, reaches all of them, and a person rather than a menu answers the call.

Is Ralmed's training accredited?

Yes. Ralmed's training is accredited by HWSETA, the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority, and by the QCTO, the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations. Courses cover First Aid Levels 1 to 3, occupational health and safety, and ongoing education for healthcare providers, and they are taught by working paramedics.

Who works at Ralmed?

Ralmed's team includes doctors, nurses, paramedics at basic, intermediate and advanced levels, and ambulance assistants, supported by a control room that answers calls 24 hours a day. Our trainers are working paramedics, so the skills they teach come from real call-outs. Current vacancies are listed on the Careers page.

Where does Ralmed work?

Ralmed works with clients across South Africa. Accredited training is delivered at client sites anywhere in the country, our air ambulance flies within South Africa and across its borders, and clinics, on-site medical teams and ambulance cover are arranged around where a client operates. Tell us where you are and we will confirm what we can put in place. In a life-threatening emergency you can also call the public services on 10177, or 112 from a mobile.

How does Ralmed support the community?

Ralmed runs a community medical response vehicle, launched in 2024 to serve the Sandton area, which carries out basic checks and basic care in people's homes. We also open our work to learners through a job-shadowing programme for final-year school pupils. The Community Work and Applications pages explain both in more detail.
